Entering the fray

The ACTIVATE Leadership Program Is Designed To Help You Challenge And Re-Frame The Assumptions That Prevent You From Exercising The Leadership You’re Capable Of.

There’s a moment where you have to choose whether to be silent or stand up.

-Malala Yusafzai

It’s hard to imagine a better time to attend ‘ACTIVATE’, our three-day Adaptive Leadership program.

Our modern workplaces are characterised by growing tensions between the way we’d like to work, and the way we’ve learned to work. We tolerate these tensions because we don’t really know how to address them. Practices that have worked in the past, seem less effective now. Our frustration grows with our bosses’ inability to remove the obstacles that impede progress. We approach our work with skill and diligence, but it doesn’t seem to have the impact we crave. And we feel we have so much more to offer, if only we knew where to start.

Perfect Program Participants

This program is perfect for you if you are:

Take control of your future, enter the fray with us and sign up for the ACTIVATE Leadership Program today.

Program Overview

Over three intensive days, you will explore and develop your ability to engage effectively with complex challenges that defy your current levels of organisational know-how. Expertly supported by Harvard-trained facilitators, you will deepen your capacity to recognise and diagnose these challenges, and mobilise your organisation to engage in the learning needed to make progress beyond the current state of inertia.

You’ll Leave the Program With:

Our facilitators, Don Lowe, Sarah Lowe, and Phil Shepherd, are all graduates of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Art and Practice of Leadership Development Program, with extensive experience in practicing or developing Adaptive Leadership across a variety of public, private and NFP organisations.

Don Lowe

‘The Provocateur’. With an adult lifetime in leadership development, Don has come to understand that a person’s defining achievements are invariably linked to the efforts of others. That’s why his professional focus has, over the years, gravitated towards helping people surface the challenges that are holding them back, and to get traction by mobilising, amplifying, and aligning their efforts with those of others. In the 19 years spent running his own Consulting company, Humanoeuvre, Don has helped professionals from all walks of life to break free from their organisational shackles and enter the leadership fray.

Sarah Lowe

‘The Mentor’. Sarah has been a senior executive, leader and coach for the past 20 years working in the commercial sector, delivering to private and public sector clients. As a senior executive, Sarah guided her large, nationally based, multi-disciplinary teams to breakthrough levels of achievement. Throughout this time, she faced just about every issue you could imagine. A dedicated learner, Sarah took on those challenges and joined her teams in the trenches as they learned, evolved and strengthened to sustain outstanding performance.  Her passion for individual and team growth is reflected in her engaging, personalised facilitation style.

Phil Shepherd

‘The Transformer’. Phil is a highly experienced leader and dynamic facilitator who is deeply passionate about leadership and helping teams and individuals reach their full potential. His point of difference is a powerful ability to develop and deliver innovative and transformative leadership programs and workshops, that actually help leaders to return to their world and truly make a difference. Phil’s alumni are able to transfer their improved confidence and sense of self-efficacy into sustained leadership effectiveness in the workplace.

  • Adaptive Leadership underscores the primacy of individual and organisational learning as a means of moving from today’s efficiency, towards tomorrow’s relevance and effectiveness.
  • By reframing leadership as an intentional activity, rather than as a job description, program participants can access countless, previously inaccessible leadership opportunities.
  • ‘Slowing down to speed up’ is a powerful diagnostic mindset, allowing participants to step back from the immediacy of a complex challenge, engage multiple perspectives, and generate a variety of insights, any one of which might have the potential to move from inertia, to progress.
  • Leadership can be risky, involving the surfacing of uncomfortable contradictions our organisations have learned to live with, or compromises we are rewarded for ignoring, but which sustain our lack of progress.
